Funding / employment package

• Full-time four-year doctoral researcher employment contract for 2027–2030.
• Gross salary of about €2,900 per month, including mobility allowance.
• Annual travel allowance for international meetings, conferences and secondments.
• Eligible researchers may receive a family allowance of about €300 gross per month under the programme conditions.
• Occupational healthcare, social-security benefits and paid annual leave under the applicable employment terms.

Who should check eligibility?

• Completed Master’s-level degree, or equivalent qualification that gives eligibility for doctoral studies, by 31 August 2026.
• Must not already hold a PhD.
• Generally less than four years of full-time-equivalent research experience after the Master’s degree.
• Meet the programme’s English-language requirement.
• Meet the MSCA mobility rule: normally not more than 12 months in Finland during the 3 years immediately before the deadline.
• Be willing to reside in Finland for the four-year doctoral project.
• Propose research aligned with the available programme themes and supervision.

Research areas

Interdisciplinary themes include infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance, biodiversity and nature resilience, sustainable food and water systems, and just socio-ecological transition.
